Postby Taxmanpat » Wed Aug 11, 2004 8:55 am

Anybody on the acceptance list currently injured or not feeling so good ? I don't want to wish anything band on anyone but I would love to see Fred Niemeyer get in the singles draw.
Let me tell you how it will be.... It's 1 for you, 19 for me, 'cause I'm the Taxman.

The Olympic rules require that players from the same country will not be drawn in the same quarter of the draw, so players of the same country can't meet before the SF.
Therefor, Kuznetsova and Petrova could play against Henin or Mauresmo in the QF.
In the men's draw, Moya can't meet Robredo in 3rd round (last 16), and none of them can meet Ferrero in QF.

David Nalbandian (ARG) has withdrawn from the Tennis Event due to a thigh injury.

He was due to play in the men's doubles in Sunday's evening session with Agustin Calleri, against Igor Andreev/Nikolay Davydenko (RUS). Nalbandian and Calleri will be replaced by Juan Ignacio Chela/Mariano Zabaleta (ARG).

In the singles draw, No. 6 seed Nalbandian wil be replaced by Frederick Niemeyer (CAN), who will face Taylor Dent (USA).
