I guess no need for me to ditch class and risk my attendance standing and my spot in the program to go out to Burbank :Dejected:

Updates:

Burbank (two special exempt spots to be cleared)
OUT: three from the main draw (and Boeker from ALT list)
IN: Svarc, Todero, Taino.
NEXT: Prpic, Soares, Vahaly, Sela, A.Hernandez, Reynolds, Widom, Mazarakis

[I believe Prpic was in the USA F29 list for next week and withdrew only a day late on Tuesday Oct 5th -- so he probably will not be allowed to play Burbank next week .. Not sure of the rule .. Widom is listed for uSA F29]

Bolton (two special exempt spots to be cleared)
OUT: One from main draw (and Ionita, Luzzi from ALT)
IN: Ketola
NEXT: Roger-Vasselin, Waske, Niemeyer, Dell'Acqua, Ryderstedt, Svarc, Gabashvili, Minar.

I think one SE spot at Burbank will go to the winner of the Hemmes-Chadaj match today at Tiburon.

I am not sure if Portas (winner of QF at Barcelona) will take an SE spot at the Bolton CH.

Looks like one SE spot will get freed up at Burbank.

Jay.

It should be given to a certain someone who's being forced to play quallies. They could, at least, have given him a WC :x

Here are the links for the ATP draws for the challenger qualies.

Burbank Qualies: http://www.atptennis.com/en/common/Trac ... /86/qs.pdf (the draw is up)

Bolton Qualies: http://www.atptennis.com/en/common/Trac ... 428/qs.pdf (not up yet but once they do that, this link will work)

I simply cannot believe that the Burbank guys would make #100 ranked Alex Bogomolov play qualies. That is absolutely unpardonable.

I mean, we are talking about a guy who would be TOP SEED in the main draw! ... Come on, this is crazy. It is not like they have a whole bunch of top-100 players there. Rather than give the guy a wildcard and make a signboard saying "come watch top-100 players in the world", they make that guy play qualies?

Pathetic!

In small protest, I am dropping my normal policy of not talking about who withdrew in the challengers - and saying it a couple of days before the official draw comes out .. #90 Yen-Hsun Lu, #194 Amer Delic, and #243 Alan Mackin withdrew.

With the original top seed Lu having withdrawn, the top seed would be #124 Goldstein (unless Alex qualifies in, which he should)

I guess I, of all people, don't need to tell you how much I agree with you. I'm even more ticked now knowing that the top seed withdrew in plenty of time for Alex to get a WC.

He's been here since Thursday!! Plenty of time. I'll be there tomorrow.

Yes, Lu had withdrawn like a week or more back. Wow, that is even worse if Alex had contacted them early enough.

:) :) .. Now that the main draw will be out within a day, why not? - Karanusic, Navarro-Pastor, Tipsarevic and Tsonga were the withdrawals at Bolton.

Well, the Bolton Challenger list did not close till Saturday evening, as the qualies are on Sunday and monday. So an update:

Bolton (TWO special exempt spots cleared)
OUT: Karanusic, Tipsarevic, Navarro-Pastor, Tsonga (and Ketola, Ionita, Luzzi, Waske, Niemeyer, Svarc, Minar, Marach from ALT)
IN: Roger-Vasselin, Dell'Acqua, Ryderstedt, Gabashvili, J.Marray, Sarstrand
NEXT: Pless, Dlouhy, Scherrer, Childs, Zovko

The qualifying draw must have been made by Saturday evening, but no sign of it at the ATP or LTA sites.
