I *could* try to list just the IN, OUT and NEXT for the challengers in the week before they start (the lists hardly move much before that), say couple of times during the week, mon/wed/fri ...

But I have a sneaky supicion that challenger tournament directors may complain to ATP if we start listing the withdrawals here --- those guys are more touchy about their entry lists (and may have the time to come here and see that we are following it!) .... A larger number of challenger withdrawals are from among the higher seeds too, compared to the ATP tou events ..

I don't know if we should care about their and ATP's view on it, though.

I have not seen ATP say why they don't release updated lists for the public, but I don't want them to go after the players through whom we get the info that they have access to ..

Let me think about this.

Yes, the lists are updated very frequently, especially from the wednesday of the week before the event. I believe ATP does a very good job of staying on top of the entry lists, checking with the ALT list players on where they are going to play, etc, all the way till the friday afternoon when they hand it over to the ATP supervisors at the tournament sites who take over during the last few hours before the main draw lists are closed and the qualifying draws are made.

I believe the players pay every year to get their player-zone accounts. Then they can see the entry lists. They can enter the events online rather than send faxes to ATP. They can also see the preliminary lists for events before the entry closes, but most of the time about 40% of the entries only come in during the last day or two before the deadline, so it is guesswork for some of the players to figure out where they might make entry and place their entry priorities properly. With a playerzone account, they can change their entries till the last minute before the moday deadlines (5 pm in Florida) though.

Not sure how much the players pay for their accounts. Some two ro three hundred dollars a year I think.

Jay, perhaps you could add "week 32" to the title, like I already did for the other tournies (except also the Olympics!). I think that would make it much more easy for everybody.
And perhaps it's not a bad idea to lock/delete/erase topics for tournaments which are already finished.
Just some ideas to make things clearer

I will simply list who made it in; not who withdrew or who is cut out from the list .. I will list an OUT only for those ALT list players whom I have previously listed as IN. How about that?

In successive lists, those listed as IN are the new ones going in after the last ones .. At Binghamton for instance, Vemic and Vahaly were in earlier. Baker, and Gimelstob were next. Now I have listed Gimelstob as IN, which means Baker isn't going there. I will list any OUT from among those who I listed as IN, if an IN player from the ALT list withdraws, as in the case of Krajan at Manta below (hope that all makes sense! :))

Update:

Binghamton (2 SEs to go): Gimelstob (IN), Amritraj, Zovko, Tsonga, Guccione, Ram

Graz (2 SEs to go): Stoppini (IN), Logtens (IN), Masson, Marafiote, Quintero, Bohli, Cobolli, Pavicevic, Colla

St.Petersburg (2 SEs to go): Puerto, Pavicevic, Kutsenko, Yaroshenko, Mergea, Wauters, Klemetz, Mazarakis

Cordenons: (2 SEs to go): Goellner (IN), Stoppini, Masson, Quintero, Bohli, Cobolli, Pavicevic, Marin, Colla

Manta (2 SE spots to go): Krajan (OUT), Harboe (IN), M.Melo (IN), Nunez, Abel, Engel, Ivanov, Pless

Not necessarily. If Stoppini had specified a higher priority (preference) for Cordenons, then they will put him in there once a spot opens up there and cut him out from Graz. He is still listed for Cordenons ..

Update

Binghamton (2 SEs to go): Amritraj (IN), Zovko (IN), Tsonga, Guccione, Ram, Boeker, Fleishman, Sarstrand

Graz (1 SE to go): Masson (IN), Marafiote, Quintero, Bohli, Cobolli, Pavicevic, Colla, Mergea

St.Petersburg (2 SEs to go): Puerta (IN), Pavicevic, Kutsenko, Wauters, Klemetz, Mazarakis, Munoz, Sipaeya

Cordenons: (2 SEs to go): Goellner (OUT), Masson (IN), Quintero (IN), Bohli, Cobolli, Pavicevic, Marin, Colla, Mergea

Manta (2 SE spots to go): Harboe (IN), M.Melo (IN), Nunez (IN), Engel (IN), Pless, Lemos, Montilla

So, Stoppini is going to Graz, it seems, as he is now gone from the Cordenons list. Masson will be removed from one of the two places he has made into.

Montilla is ranked #1060 and could make at Manta!! Though there some 15 odd top-350 players, the list quite poor at this challenger. It will be a decent challenger after the first round or two though.

Very final update:

Seeds at Manta qualies: Jean-Julien Roger, David Gonzales (ECU), Andres Arango (ECU).

Roger, ranked #420 would have easily made the draw had he entered, but he should have no problem qualifying in. A lot of byes in the qualies.

Well, one more update ---

Binghamton: Sarstrand moved into the main draw from qualies, before the qualkies started. So, technically he is the last direct entry to main draw.
