German wild card holder Tommy Haas advanced into the BMW Open semifinals after beating 8th seed Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in straight sets 6-1  7-6 (3).

The German former world no.2 carries on delighting his home fans this week and there were moments, when he wasn’t that far off the tennis he played a few years back.

In the semis, world no.134 Haas will play 3th seed Croatian Marin Cilic, who defeated Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 6-3  6-7 (6)  6-3.

Should Haas go on to win this tournament, he would beat his best result achieved here in 2000, when he lost in the final.
