Although he has not been at his best over the last while, Grigor Dimtrov appears to be on his way back to regaining his previous form in 2014. He reached the quarter-final round in Monte Carlo, where he lost to Gael Monfils, the semi-final round in Istanbul, where he los tot Pablo Cuevas, the quarter-final round of the Madrid Masters, where he was ousted by Rafael Nadal, and most recently a second round upset at the hands of Fabio Fognini.

Since the start of the clay court season this year, Jack Sock has had a rollercaster ride on the tour. He began with a title win in Houston, where he defeated Sam Querrey in the final, then only managed to win one match in his next four contests spanning over three events. He is currently on a three-match losing streak and went winless in Rome and Nice ahead of the French Open.

In a draw that featured a wide range of compelling first round contests to pick and chose from, the match-up between Grigor Dimitrov and Jack Sock is certainly one to look out for. This is just second time that Dimitrov and Sock will meet on the ATP World Tour and could make for an intriguing and exciting encounter between two of the ATP’s future stars. Their first meeting saw Dimitrov take a 1-0 head-to-head lead with a win at the If Stockholm Open. He will likely find a way to edge out a win against the gradually rising Sock, even if it takes him four or five sets to complete the job.

Prediction: Grigor Dimitrov in Four Sets
