Last time Chelsea were in action they narrowly beat Hull City at the KC Stadium whereas Stoke suffered a home defeat to an inspired Crystal Palace side. Both teams are in need of a boost in form to end the season successfully and this game promises to be a physical and enthralling battle. Check out the Chelsea vs Stoke City Head to Head matches.

José Mourinho’s men hold the statistical advantage ahead of this clash with Stoke never having beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with the Blues winning 3-0 on the same Easter weekend last year. However, Chelsea’s form has been patchy at best so far in 2015 and Stoke will be looking to capitalise on that. With top scorer Diego Costa a doubt, perhaps Stoke will be able to pose the Premier League leaders problems on Saturday.
Goalkeeper Petr Cech and combative midfielder John Obi-Mikel are both unlikely to make the cut for the game due to a muscular and knee injury respectively. For Stoke the news is much more positive with Mark Hughes confirming that Philipp Wollscheid, Erik Pieters and Marc Muniesa are set to return to the team. One player who will surely be a huge loss to The Potters is Victor Moses who has scored three goals and supplied five assists since the start of the season but has been particularly impressive in recent weeks: “We are obviously missing Victor because he isn’t allowed to play against the side he is on-loan from, so we have lost a little bit of our attacking flair,” he said.
“We still have other players available though – ones who are capable of coming into the team and making an impact.”.
However, long term absentees Bojan Krkic and Peter Odemwingie are still not available for selection but Odemwingie may feature in the closing stages of the season: “Peter is doing ok and we are really encouraged by how he is doing, and we don’t want to put too much pressure on him but we are hopeful of getting him back before the end of the season.
“It would be a help to him and to ourselves to see him back on the field over the next couple of months.”
Chelsea are in such a great position to win the league this season and surely cannot fail to do so with the abundance of talent littered throughout their squad. I see this game being one sided with early frustration but late jubilation for the hosts.
