After undergoing wrist surgery in March, former world No. 4 Juan Martin del Potro posted a video of his first on-court training session in Argentina.
The 2009 U.S. Open champion can be seen hitting a variety of volleys and slice backhands along with his coach.
Del Potro took to Facebook to update his fans on his status:
“Hey everybody! I’ve got good news to share: I’m back on a tennis court! It was a light hit, some forehands and volleys without major movement, since I still wear the splint on my left wrist. At this point I have to be cautious, without skipping any step during the recovery time. As always, thanks for your messages!!”
This is the second time that del Potro has been forced onto the sidelines with a wrist injury. The Argentine was forced off the tour for the majority of 2010 with a wrist injury, after he had managed to win his first (and only) Grand Slam title the prior year.
