World No. 5 David Ferrer has confirmed his participation in the Buenos Aires Open next week, after receiving a wildcard entry to the event. The Spaniard will attempt to capture his third straight Copa Claro title at the event this season.
I’m happy to confirm that I will play Copa Claro and I’m very glad to play again in front of Buenos Aires crowd.” Ferrer said.
The Spaniard’s decision to join the tournament late in the week came after a spot opened up due to fellow countryman Rafael Nadal’s withdrawing from the event due to a lack of preparation following his back injury.
Ferrer will join Fabio Fognini, Tommy Robredo, Nicolas Almagro, Juan Monaco amongst other in Buenos Aires on Sunday for what is dubbed the “Cathedral of Argentinean Tennis”.
