Top American female player Sloane Stephens has announced that she has officially hired acclaimed coach Paul Annacone as her full-time coach for the upcoming season. The two had begun a temporary partnership in the off-season for 5 weeks but it appears that they have chosen to continue working together for the foreseeable future,
“I’m happy to add Paul as my coach for the 2014 season,” Stephens said in a statement. “His success as both a player and coach speaks for itself. We had a great preseason working together and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue working together.”
Annacone, who coached Federer to his last Grand Slam title at Wimbledon in 2012, had originally mentioned that he would not be travelling with the Sloane to Australia but it appears he has changed his mind and will begin coaching the young tennis star starting at the the season-opening Grand Slam in Melbourne.
