British No. 1 Laura Robson has revealed that she will begin a working relationship with coach Nick Saviano. The top female player has been without a coach since splitting with Miles Maclagan in October. Former world No. 163 Jesse Witten will also work with Robson as her coach and hitting partner during tournaments.
Saviano already coaches Robson’s close friend Eugenie Bouchard and is expected to accompany the Canadian teenager to the big tournaments. That would mean the young Brit will need another coach to tend to her during the big events as he will only be providing his services to one of the female stars at a time.
Robson entered the US Open as a seeded player for the first time in her career but has since dropped to World No. 45 after a disasspointing fall season in Asia. She will begin her 2014 season at the ASB Classic in Auckland, which takes place 31 December, 2013.
