Former British No. 1 Tim Henman will take part in a charity exhibition competition alongside veterans Greg Rusedski, Pat Rafter and Mark Philippoussis at the Royal Albert Hall in London on December 4th. The proceeds from the event will benefit the selected charity of the tournament, Best Beginning. The event wil feature a variety of singles and doubles contests.
“I’m thrilled to be playing at the Royal Albert Hall again with my old rivals and to support Best Beginnings – as a father of three I know how important it is to give children the best start in life possible,” Henman said.
Best Beginnings is an organization that gives families with support and information that will help them improve their children’s health, well-being and future life chances.
“We’re thrilled to have been chosen as this year’s charity,” said Best Beginning CEO Alison Baum.“The money and profile raised on the night will help us to support more families across the UK and help them give their babies the best possible start,”
The tournament will also serves as the opening ceremony of the Statoil Masters Tennis.
“We are delighted to announce Best Beginnings as our charity for 2013, and to stage an opening night with so many big tennis names,” said IMG Sponsorship Managing Director Charlie Grave. “Henman, Rusedski, Philippoussis and Rafter are hugely popular, and their presence will help us to raise money for a very important cause,”
