British No. 1 Andy Murray (Player Profile) along with top stars Juan Martin del Potro (Player Profile), Richard Gasquet (Player Profile) and Nicolas Almagro (Player Profile) have all been confirmed for the Dream Cup tournament in Barbados next month.
The Dream Cup takes place on the Caribbean Island of Barbados between November 28th and December 1st. It is a tournament that brings together four of the world’s top players, as they compete for a $500,000 villa stay in one of the premium three bedroom beachfront homes at Saint Peter’s Bay Resort & Residences. It has previously attracted such stars as Serena Williams, Venus Williams, John Isner, Gael Monfils, Victoria Azarenka, and Caroline Wozniacki.
“We are thrilled to have top players like Andy, Juan Martin, Richard and Nicolas come to Barbados and experience this incredible paradise,” said Kodi Lewis, Executive Director, The Dream Cup Barbados. “We are grateful for the relationships with key supporters such as the Barbados Tourism Authority, ESPN and Saint Peter’s Bay. Having this amazing tennis talent compete on the island will be a fantastic experience for the fans and sponsors and we can’t wait to kick ‘The Dream Cup’ off.”
The tennis tournament challenge will begin November 29th with the two Semi-Final Singles Matches. Saturday evening will be The Dream Cup Singles Final followed by two closing events on Sunday with an added Exhibition Doubles Match. Patrick McEnroe will serve as the ESPN analyst for the matches.
