The US Open 2013 final Live Commentary between Novak Dkokovic and Rafael Nadal will commence here as soon as the players enter the centre court in Flushing Meadows in New York.

This will be the 37th meeting between the two players, you can check out the Nadal vs Djokovic Head to Head , Rafa leads it with 21-15.

Both Djokovic and Nadal have had a superb tournament so far, although the Spaniard cruised into the final with a bit more ease. The only set he dropped was against Kohlschreiber in the 4th round, whereas Nole lost a set against Youzhny just before winning a marathon five setter in the semis against Wawrinka.

Will the world no.1 Djokovic be able to halt Nadal’s superb run (22 hard court wins this year, zero losses) in today’s final?

  • 00:18 am
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 4-6 1-3* - Djokovic ensures that he is just one break behind Nadal with a hold to 15 after Nadal threatened to pull away after taking the first point.
  • 00:14 am
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 4-6 *0-3 Nadal - Nadal just 3 games away from his thirteenth grand slam title now after another routine hold, remaining solid after going down 0-15. More Djokovic errors lead Nadal to game point and and he puts away a backhand to make it 3-0.
  • 00:10 am
BREAK NADAL - Djokovic 2-6 6-3 4-6 0-2* Nadal - Just like that Nadal goes up 0-30 with two unforced errors from Djokovic and forces another backhand error from Djokovic for 3 break points. The first one is saved with a volley winner and the second after a generous net roll but Djokovic can do nothing about yet another stunning Nadal forehand down the line as he breaks and the end is near for Djokovic now surely.
  • 00:05 am
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 4-6 *0-1 Nadal - A return winner is a great opening to the set for Djokovic who looks to show he is far from done. He gets 15-30 up but Nadal ties it at 30-30 with a drop shot that Djokovic just about fails to get to. Nadal tries the same trick at the end of an extended rally but Djokovic slides in to guide it away for a winner and break point. However, Djokovic puts too much on his forehand and hits wide for deuce. However, he gets a second chance as he forces the forehand error out of Nadal. Djokovic's return goes long on his second break opportunity and Nadal eventually holds with a smash winner after pulling Djokovic out of court.
  • 23:54 pm
BREAK AND SET NADAL Djokovic 2-6 6-3 4-6* Nadal - From 30-0 Djokovic is pegged back to 30-30 with Nadal finishing off a great point with a volley before two Djokovic unforced errors give Nadal set point out of nowhere and an amazing forehand from Nadal touches the line as Djokovic is left helpless as his return lands way long as Nadal celebrates what could be a key break and set victory.
  • 23:47 pm
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 *4-5 Nadal - Djokovic suddenly brings up 0-40 out of nowhere. The first point of the game was a magical lob that lands perfectly on the line with Nadal nowhere to be found. After getting to 0-30, a vicious return is too much for Nadal who only nets his backhand. The first is saved with a forehand winner and the second Djokovic nets at the end of a 21 shot rally. Nadal ACES on the third break point. He gets to game point but a scrappy rally is ended by a drop shot into the net from Nadal. He gets a second chance to convert the game and makes no mistake hitting the smash to close out the game and put major pressure on Djokovic.
  • 23:39 pm
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 4-4* Nadal - Djokovic hangs on in there with a hold to 15, never falling behind unlike the last two games. Ace number six helps him on his way.
  • 23:33 pm
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 *3-4 Nadal - An easy hold gives Nadal the lead once more. A poor volley goes out to give Nadal 3 game points but the first is double faulted away however a loose Djokovic forehand allows Nadal to hold to 15.
  • 23:29 pm
BREAK NADAL - Djokovic 2-6 6-3 3-3* Nadal - Djokovic arguably could be up two breaks here so it's definitely in the balance. He falls down 15-30 but a massive forehand winner brings it back to 30-30. Nadal shanks a backhand to give Djokovic game point but Nadal pounds the Djokovic backhand to force the error to get to deuce. Djokovic hits wide to give Nadal break point and a wild backhand gives Nadal the BREAK BACK.
  • 23:22 pm
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 *3-2 Nadal - Djokovic looks to go for the second break but can't convert from 0-15 as Nadal continues to force errors from the Djokovic racquet.
  • 23:18 pm
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 3-1* Nadal - Djokovic fluffs a volley for 0-15 but is in little danger from then on, taking the next four points and serving ace number 5 to finish it off.
  • 23:12 pm
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 *2-1 Nadal - Nadal has toned down his aggression now and Djokovic is definitely the better player right now. A forehand is netted as Nadal goes down 15-30 but a well placed volley makes it 30-30. Djokovic hits a backhand long and Nadal has game point. However, a huge Djokovic forehand winner takes it to deuce and a massive return winner gives him break point for a fifth consecutive game but once more the backhand lets him down and we are back to deuce. Nadal eventually holds but had to fight for it.
  • 23:04 pm
Djokovic 2-6 6-3 2-0* - Djokovic makes it four games in a row, going 30-0 up before Nadal wins his first point of the set. An ace brings up two game points but both go unconverted. Djokovic drags Nadal around the court before the Spaniard finally hits a backhand long for game point. A second ace of the game finishes it off.
  • 22:59 pm
BREAK DJOKOVIC - Djokovic 2-6 6-3 *1-0 - Djokovic has come to life in the last hour and immediately goes up 0-40, break point being brought up after a forehand long from Nadal followed Djokovic's stunning winner. He completes the break to love with another backhand error from Nadal.
  • 22:53 pm
SET DJOKOVIC - Djokovic 2-6 6-3* - It looks like Djokovic will once more fail to hold on as he falls down 15-30 but he manages to keep his cool to take the next three points with a backhand winner down the line to equal the match up.
  • 22:49 pm
BREAK DJOKOVIC - Djokovic 2-6 *5-3 Nadal - Nadal ties the second set back up with a hold to deuce. He quickly gets to 40-15 but a forehand goes long to see the first game point go away and Djokovic saves the second with a forehand winner. However, Djokovic hits well wide to give Nadal a third opportunity but Djokovic once more saves it with a forehand down the line. Nadal continues to fail to convert game points up to his sixth before Djokovic gets another break point. Nadal defends well although Djokovic was dictating the point only for the Spaniard to throw in a brainless dropshot which Djokovic happily puts away for the break. Djokovic will now serve for the second set.
  • 22:36 pm
BREAK NADAL - Djokovic 2-6 4-3* Nadal - With the perceived momentum in Djokovic's favour, he suddenly finds himself down 0-40. The first is saved by a volley winner and Nadal nets the second on a backhand. However, the third is taken after Nadal forces the forehand error out of Djokovic
