Rafael Nadal beat David Ferrer in today’s final at the French Open 2013 to capture his unbelievable 8th trophy here in Paris. Nadal literally demolished Ferrer in straight sets 6-3 6-2 6-3.
Despite Ferrer having plenty of opportunities to break his countryman, the defending champion stood up to the task and managed to avert 9 out of 12 BPs. On the other hand, Rafa took David’s serve on eight occasions, closing out the match in 2h and 16 minutes.
This is Nadal’s 12th Grand Slam title, overtaking all time greats Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver.
