Italian 6th seed Sara Errani’s incredible run as the leading match winner of the 2013 season to date continued on day seven of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells on Tuesday, when she comfortably defeated the 9th seed from France, Marion Bartoli, to score her 21st win this year with only one loss. The final score was 6-3 6-2, achieved in under an hour and a half. The Italian was handed a slew of gift points from Bartoli who just could not get her game together, specifically seven double faults to her one; and overall Errani played a fine game to book her place in the quarters.

In the second fourth round match Czech 5th seed Petra Kvitova took on her countrywoman, 19th seed Klara Zakopalova. Kvitova got the first break to lead 4-2, held and served out the set at 6-3 in just 28 minutes. In the second set she ran away to a 5-0 lead before Zakopalova fought back to win three games in a row to trail 3-5, but her effort was in vain, as Kvitova held her serve and took the set 6-3 and the match in under an hour to move smoothly into the quarter finals.
