Top seeded David Ferrer won the 2013 Buenos Aires tournament after defeating Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4 3-6 6-1 in Sunday’s final.

This was the 20th ATP title for Ferrer, who was the defending champion here in Argentina. The Spaniard also managed to capture the Auckland trophy last month in New Zealand.

The first set of the encounter offered the highest quality tennis of the match. Ferrer managed to take Wawrinka’s serve twice, able to eventually serve it out in the 10th game. However, the Swiss player came storming back, punishing Ferrer’s incostistent serve and levelling the score at one set all.

Nevertheless, the Spaniard showed his fighting spirit once more as he breezed through the decider in great fashion, clinching it 6-1.
