Bernard Tomic advanced into his first ATP Tour final after beating Andreas Seppi at the Sydney International tournament, winning in straight set 7-6 (10) 6-4.

Tomic could rely on his serve throughout the whole match, saving all six break points and taking Seppi’s serve once in the second set to sail to victory.

He could become the first Australian to win this title since Lleyton Hewitt did so back in 2005.

Also through to the final is South African Kevin Anderson, who came back from a set down to defeat Julien Benneteau of France, prevailing 3-6 6-4 7-6 (8).

Benneteau, last year’s finalist here, wasn’t able to convert two match points in the decider and after two hours and 24 minutes, Anderson emerged victorious for the first time against the Frenchman in their last three matches.
