Top seed and defending champion Andy Murray needed three sets to overcome Australian John Millman in the second round of 2012 Brisbane International, winning 6-1 5-7 6-3.

Murray, who managed to take his opponent´s serve three times to go a set up, lost his focus a bit and after conceding two breaks in set two, the Aussie crowd was going to witness a decider.

Although the 2012 US Open champion didn´t look his best today, he stepped up a notch in the third set and the pressure proved to be too much for the world no.199 Millman.

Murray will square off against Denis Istomin in the quarters, who defeated another home crowd favourite Lleyton Hewitt 7-5 7-5.
