Frenchman Richard Gasquet came back from a set and a break down to beat Russia´s Nikolay Davydenko 3-6 7-6 (4) 6-3 to claim the Qatar Open 2013 title.

Former world no.3 Davydenko has played a perfect tournament this week, eliminating top seed Ferrer on his way into the final. It looked like nothing is going to stop him from claiming victory here in Doha as he took a 6-3 4-2 lead.

But when Gasquet managed to save a couple more break points in the seventh game of the second set, he went on to take Davydenko´s serve for the first time in the match. This seemed to have given him the much needed boost which resulted in him forcing a decider after wrapping up the ´breaker´with 7-4.

Gasquet never looked back and was in full control of the third set, closing out the match in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

This is a 8th ATP Tour title for the Frenchman and he improved his head to head record against Davydenko to 4-2.
