Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov reached the 2013 Brisbane International tournament as he upset second seeded Milos Raonic of Canada in straight sets 6-3 6-4.

Some big serving dominated the encounter, with the Canadian not able to win a single point after Dimitrov´s first serve found it´s mark. On the other hand, Raonic dropped just three points after his first serve.

However, one break of serve in each of the sets was enough for the Bulgarian to set up a quarter-final clash against no.7 seed Austrian Jurgen Melzer, who overcame Belgian David Goffin 6-4 7-6 (4).

Also out of the tournament is former world no.1 Lleyton Hewitt after going down to Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan 7-5 7-5.

“I just didn’t take my chances. Should have been up an early break in the first and the second sets,” said Hewitt.

Istomin needed an hour and 45 minutes to book a place in the last 8, where he will face the winner of the match between Murray and Millman.
