Second seeded Richard Gasquet advanced into the Qatar Open 2013 semis as he eliminated Slovak Lukas Lacko in straight sets 6-1 6-3.

The Frenchman broke his opponent five times to seal the victory in one hour and 11 minutes.

“I returned better and served better than yesterday. It’s a good match for me,” said Gasquet after the match.

Last year´s finalist Gael Monfils, who has been struggling with injuries, ended his run at the tournament, going down 6-1 7-5 to German qualifier Daniel Brands.

It was visible that Monfils is missing some match practice, but on the other hand Brands put up a superb performance to break his opponent four times and advance into the semis for the first time in his career.
