Former world no.1 Kim Clijsters played her last professional match on home soil as she defeated Venus Williams 6-3 6-3 in front of the Antwerp crowd.

The Belgian player, who had a positive 7-6 head to head record against Venus going into the match, officially retired after losing to Brit Laura Robson at this year’s US Open. Clijsters has won four Grand Slam tournaments throughout her career, including three Flushing Meadows titles.

Clijsters received a giant tennis racket during this exhibition match and seemed to be really enjoying herself out there, with 13,000 spectators watching on.

“There’s not just tennis in my life. I like cooking, gardening, reading, decorating the house, putting up the Christmas tree and running.” said the Belgian after the match.
