Novak Djokovic reached the ATP World Tour Finals 2012 semi-finals after beating Tomas Berdych in today’s group match, prevailing 6-2 7-6 (6).

The Serbian player, who is going to finish this year as world no.1, started off on a positive note. After breaking the Czech twice to take a 4-1 lead, nothing was standing in his way to move ahead in today’s encounter.

After the players traded one break each at the beginning of set two, the score was poised at 2-2. From then onwards, the quality of tennis has gone up a bit and with no more breaks of serve, the London crowd was all ready for a ‘breaker’. As Berdych took a quick 5-1 lead and earned himself three set points a couple of minutes later at 6-3 up, everyone was getting prepared for a decider. However, Djokovic showed his fighting spirit once again and not only did he manage to avert all set points, but he captured the set and match withs some calm mind.

Djokovic has won all three matches in his group now and will be finishing it at the no.1 spot.
