The two top seed of the Stockholm Open 2012, Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Czech Tomas Berdych will face off in tomorrow’s final.

Tsonga booked his place in the final after his opponent Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus was forced to retire due to a groin injury at 6-4 4-6 5-2 in the Frenchman’s favour. After the players split the first two sets, Tsonga went up a break in the decider. Baghdatis had a chance to break back at 2-4 down, but as he tried to run down a ball from his opponent’s racket, he inflicted himself and injury and decided not to continue playing after a medical time-out.

The Frenchman will play Berdych for the title after the Czech overcame Spaniard Nicolas Almagro in straight sets 6-3 6-2. Berdych, who overpowered his opponent from the baseline and was invincible on his serves, will play his 5th final of the season. He leads the head to head against Tsonga with 2-1, having won their last encounter in Shanghai last week.
