Serena Williams defeated Agnieszka Radwanska to become the first finalist at the WTA Championships 2012 in Istanbul, winning in two comfortable sets 6-2 6-1.

Radwanska looked quite exhausted throughout the whole match, but not surprisingly as the two three set matches that she had to play this week probably did the damage. The Pole defeated Sara Errani in yesterday’s match, which was the longest one in this tournament with 3 hours and 29 minutes.

Williams dominated in all departments, hit 39 winners alltogether and managed to take her opponent’s serve six times in the match to set up a final encounter against Maria Sharapova, who overcame Victoria Azarenka.

The American has had a great summer, winning Wimbledon, the Olympic games and then the US Open as well. She will be aiming to capture her seventh title of the year.
