Julian Wortelboer, president and CEO of Group NOS, a sports and entertainment promoter from Argentina, has announced the first annual Miami Tennis Cup; an exhibition tournament to be played at the Crandon Park Tennis Center, home of the Sony Ericsson, from November 30 through December 2.

The players scheduled to participate in the inaugural event are reported to be Alejandro Falla (COL), John Isner (USA), Nicolas Almagro (ESP), Juan Carlos Ferrero (ESP), Andy Roddick (USA) and Andy Murray (GBR). Andy Murray and Andy Roddick are seeded first and second, respectively.

There will be 6 players divided into 2 round-robin groups. Each match will be a best-of-3 sets, double elimination format, and the top 2 seeds will receive automatic byes into the semifinal round.

As part of the week-long series of family friendly events, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) will hold a sanctioned 12 and under tournament. In addition, the Miami Tennis Club is in partnership with Shake-A-Leg Miami, a nonprofit organization providing programs to help disabled people in their mental and physical recovery through water activities. A portion of the profits will be donated to Shake-A-Leg Miami.

Julian Wortelboer has said, “We are honored to have not only some of the most iconic tennis professionals participating, but some of the most legendary individuals from the world of sport. With our introduction of the first ever stadium court in white, our signature colors will make the spectator experience unlike any other and establish Miami Tennis Cup as a must-see event each year in the world tennis calendar.”
