Top seed Caroline Wozniacki advanced into the Korea Open 2012 quarterfinals after beating Czech Klara Zakopalova in straight sets 6-2  6-3.

Zakopalova, who reached the final here in 2010, never looked like a threat to the Dane, who is now going to face Ekaterina Makarova of Russia for a place in the semifinal. Makarova overcame Spain’s Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez in an even more straight forward encounter, winning 6-1  6-1.

Wozniacki leads the head to head against Makarova with 4-0, having beaten her twice this year. The Dane is yet to win a tournament in 2012, with her best result being the final in Copenhagen.

Also through to the QFs is 3rd seed Kaia Kanepi of Estonia as she eliminated Kiki Bertens of Netherlands 6-4  6-4. Kanepi will play 6th seeded American Varvara Lepchenko next, who overcame Austrian Tamira Paszek in a three set thriller 4-6  7-6 (3)  6-4.
