Top seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and no.3 seed John Isner will face off for a place in the final at the Winston-Salem Open.

Tsonga needed mere 53 minutes to send Spaniard Marcel Granollers packing, literally demolishing him 6-1  6-2. Two breaks of serve in each of the sets handed him a very comfortable victory and secured him a spot in the last 4 of the tournament.

Defending champion John Isner fired 21 aces on his way to defeating Belgian David Goffin in straight sets 7-6 (5)  6-3. The first set saw four break point opportunities for the American, who failed to convert any of them. With no breaks of serve, Isner ultimately wrapped it up after winning the tiebreak 7-5. He then went on to take Goffin’s serve in the 5th game of the second set and never looked back again.

Isner leads the head to head against Tsonga with 3-1, having won their last encounter in this year’s Davis Cup quarterfinals.

In the other semifinal, no.2 seed Berdych will play 7th seeded American Querrey.
