Number one seed Mardy Fish from the USA made light work of wildcard entrant Ricardas Berankis of Lithuania to progress to the last eight of the ATP Citi Open in Washington.
Fish had been taken to three sets by German Bjorn Phau in the first round but was able to see off the challenge of Berankis in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
Fish hit 10 aces on his way to victory and was able to win 81 per cent of points on his first serve. In comparison, Berankis was only converting 60 per cent of his first serve points and produced six double faults. The Lithuanian did have two break points, but Fish was able to save them both and convert four of the five break points that he had gained on the Berankis serve.
Fish will now face Xavier Mallise of Belgium in the Quarter Final after he produced a stunning performance to see off sixth seed Jeremy Chardy of France 6-3, 6-2. The Belgian dominated the points on his service game and did not have to face one break point.
