Sam Querrey of the USA continued his current impressive form to beat the tournaments third seed Kevin Anderson of South Africa. Querrey, seeded number eight, had a struggle to get through his first round against Russia’s Andreev, but has beaten some good opposition since, without dropping a set.

The big serving South African made Querrey work for the win, but was unable to get a chance to break the American’s serve. In comparison, the two break opportunities that Querrey had, he took to see out the match and book his Semi-Final place.

The American will now face Alexandr Dolgopolov of the Ukraine, seeded number two for the tournament. Dolgopolov had eased his way through to the Quarter Finals, only dropping eight games on route. He now faced home favourite James Blake of the USA and was taken to a tie-break in the first set. However, the Ukrainian battled through to win it and made a crucial break of serve in the second set to win the match 7-6, 6-4.

Alexandr Dolgopolov (2) will now face Sam Querrey (8) in Saturdays second Semi-Final.
