No surprises in 2012 Dallas semifinals as both Roberta Vinci and Jelena Jankovic finish off their unseeded opponents in two straight sets.

Unseeded Serbian player Bojana Jovanovski will be leaving Texas Open in Dallas with mixed feelings. On one hand, she reached semifinal of a WTA tournament, on the other hand, she was double-bagled today by third seed Italian Vinci. 23rd ranked Italian dominated all aspects of the game and, symptomatically, the only thing Jovanovski stood out in was making five double faults as opposed to Vinci’s two. Although young Serbian had two break point chances and won 26 rallies, it was never enough for even taking a game. The match ended in 6-0, 6-0 for Vinci who now has an opportunity to get her first WTA trophy of the year.

While Jovanovski was happy to gather some valuable experience, her established compatriot Jankovic was always a contender for 2012 Dallas title. Her 106th ranked Australian opponent Casey Dellacqua still caused her more trouble than probably expected. Both of the players could hardly keep a service game in the first set which was, not surprisingly, decided with Jankovic grabbing her fourth break. She then lost a serve in fifth game of the following set, but made a complete comeback and took a 7-5, 6-4 victory. Serbian star will also be eager to conquer her first 2012 WTA tournament.
