Tournament number one seed Mardy Fish came through his Quarter Final against Belgium’s Xavier Mallise with a comfortable 6-3, 6-4 win. Mallise had beaten sixth seed Jeremy Chardy of France in the previous round and was set to be a tough opponent for Fish.

However, the American converted the two break points he gained to claim victory and move into the last four. Fish hit 10 aces in total, but was only hitting 42 per cent of his first serves, however, Mallise was unable to take advantage of this and failed to win either of the break points he gained on the Fish serve.

The top seed from the USA will now face fourth seed Tommy Haas of Germany. Haas was facing his fellow compatriot Tobias Kamke, who had beaten seventh seed Benoitt Paire in the first round. Haas though dispatched Kamke with ease to set up the Semi-Final with Fish.

Kamke was unable to get a break point on the Haas serve, who converted four of the five break point opportunities he had to win 6-1, 6-2.

Mardy Fish (1) will now face Tommy Haas (4) for a place in Sundays Final.
