Lukas Rosol secured his place in the Kitzbühel quarterfinals with a 3-set win over qualifier Antonio Veic of Croatia. The world no. 97 played consistently against his opponent to gain a break in the first set. Rosol let things slip in the second set, going down two breaks and eventually conceding the set 5-7. Bouncing back nicely in the third, the Czech best known for defeating Nadal at this year’s Wimbledon broke Veic twice, despite the fact that he was serving at 82%. Rosol eventually took the match 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 in just under 2 hours.

This marks Rosol’s third quarterfinal appearance this season, having reached them in Belgrade and Prague a few months earlier. He will await the winner of the match between first seed Philipp Kohlschreiber and qualifier Attila Balazs.
