Juan Martin Del Potro booked his place in third round of the London Olympics Men’s Tennis singles after overcoming Italian Andreas Seppi in straight sets 6-3  7-6 (2).  The Argentinian, however, didn’t make it easy for himself as he lost his first service game in the first set.  Although this was just the start he didn’t want, he soon managed to level the set by breaking Seppi back, bringing back the excitement into this battle.  Del Potro finally managed to secure a second break in this entertaining centre court match, which proved to be enough for him as he took the first set 6-3.

The second set was equally as thrilling as the first, with Seppi and Del Potro matching each other game for game, it was only hard to tell who was going to come out on top at the end of it.  Eventually, the London crowd were going to witness a tiebreak between the two.  Seppi fought hard to take the match into a decider, but unfortunately for him, the Argentine seemed to regain momentum and breezed through the ‘breaker’, winning it 7-2.

Del Potro will face Frenchman Gilles Simon in round three, who eliminated Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 6-3  6-3.
