Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi successfully defended their Roland Garros title after beating Mike and Bob Bryan in Sunday’s final in straight sets 6-4  6-4.

This is the second Grand Slam title for the world no.1 ranked Canadian-Belarussian duo, but Nestor has got 8 slam trophys in total, while Mirnyi can be proud at his 6 vitories.

The crucial moment of the first set came in the fifth game, when Nestor/Mirnyi managed to break the Bryans to take a 3-2 lead. After holding their serve till the end, they closed out the set to take a big step towards the title defence.

Both teams had some break point opportunities at the beginning of the second set, but the Belarussian-Canadian pair was the first to strike again, taking a 3-1 lead. As they were rock solid on their own serve, not dropping it once throughout the match, the victory was theirs just after 1 hour and 35 minutes.

Bryans reached the second Grand Slam final of the year, after losing to Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek at this year’s Australian Open final.
