Former Wimbledon runner-up David Nalbandian moved into the second round of this year’s AEGON Championships at the Queen’s Club in London after overcoming Canadian Vasek Pospisil 4-6  6-2  6-2.

He will now face Belgian qualifier Ruben Bemelmans, who defeated Tunisian Malek Jaziri 6-4  1-6  6-3.

American Sam Querrey, winner of the Queen’s Club tournament in 2010 (beating fellow countryman Fish in the final), booked his second round place as he beat Belgian Olivier Rochus 6-1  6-7 (4)  6-4.

Querrey will play 12th seed Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan next, who ousted Freench qualifier Kenny De Schepper 6-4 7-6 (4).

In the other first round matches, 14th seed Gilles Muller of Luxembourg eliminated British wild card holder Liam Broady 6-2  6-1, Jamie Baker won a all British battle against Oliver Golding (both players received wild cards) with a 7-6 (1)  6-3 scoreline and 15th seed Go Soeda of Japan outclassed German Bjorn Phau in straight sets 6-2  6-2.
