No.3 seed Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic reached the last 8 at the Gerry Weber Open tournament in Halle after defeating world no.33 Viktor Troicki of Serbia 6-3  6-2.

In a match that lasted just an hour, the Czech dominated in all departments, holding his serve with a lot of confidence.

Berdych will face the winner of the match between Tommy Haas and Marcel Granollers for a place in the semis.

Canadian Milos Raonic destroyed Chinese qualifier Ze Zhang in just 52 minutes, allowing him only two games on his way to a 6-1  6-1 victory.

In the quarterfinals, the 5th seeded Raonic will face Swiss Federer or German Mayer.

Also through to the last 8 are Czech Radek Stepanek, who overcame Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 6-4  6-4 and Russia’s Mikhail Youzhny, pulling off a 6-4  3-6  6-3 win against no.4 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine.
