Del Potro beats Montanes, sets up Wawrinka SF in Estoril

Top seed Juan Martin Del Potro booked his place in the Estoril Open semifinals after beating former champion Albert Montanes of Spain in two easy sets 6-2  6-2.

Defending champion del Potro, who hasn’t played a competitive match for the last 5 weeks, managed to break his opponent 6 times to cruise to a victory in just 1 hour and 17 minutes.

Next up for del Potro will be 3rd seed Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland, who defeated Robin Haase of Netherlands 6-1  6-4 in today’s quarterfinal.
