Former world no.3 Nikolay Davydenko moved into the Nice Open semifinals after beating American top seed John Isner 6-4  7-6 (4).

Isner had his chances throughout the match, but couldn’t convert any of the three break points he had. Davydenko managed to take his opponent’s serve once in the first set.

The Russian will play another American qualifier Brian Baker, who has been in the spotlight at this year’s tournament. Baker dismissed Mikhail Kukushkin to book his place in the semifinal.
