World no.2 Rafael Nadal destroyed Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan 6-1  6-1 and moved into the Monte Carlo Rolex Masters quarterfinals.

As the rain interrupted today’s day play, Nadal was forced to play his match under floodlights. It didn’t seem to bother him as he crushed his opponent and set up a quarterfinal encounter against Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland.

Wawrinka outclassed Nicolas Almagro of Spain 6-3  6-3 in just 80 minutes and made his way into the last 8.

Also through to the quarters is Robin Haase of Netherlands, who defeated the Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci 6-2  6-3.

Haase will have to play world no.1 Djokovic next, who beat Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine 2-6  6-1  6-4.
