Italian Flavio Cipolla surprisingly beat the second-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov 6-4  6-1 in the second round of the Grand Prix Hassan II tennis tournament in Casablanca.

Cipolla will play Benoit Paire in the quarterfinals, who fought back against the German Matthias Bachinger, winning in three sets 6-7 (3)  6-3  6-2.

Today wasn’t the best day for the seeded players as the 4th seed Denis Istomin also went out to Igor Andreev, the Russian winning 6-7 (3)  6-3  6-2.

Andreev will meet Guillermo Garcia-Lopez next, who also eased to the quarters with a 6-4  6-2 victory over the Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu.
