Rafael Nadal joins world no.1 Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells with a 6-3  6-2 win over the Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov.

Nadal got off to a good start, broke his opponent once and with only 3 unforced errors took the first set 6-3. Dolgopolov had chances to stay in the set but couldn’t convert any of them when the Spaniard was serving at 5-3.

The second set began in similar fashion as the world no.2 took the Ukrainian’s serve to go 2-1 up. From then onwards, Dolgopolov seemed to have lost his believe to turn this match around and Nadal sailed to a straight sets win.

Nadal will face David Nalbandian in the quarterfinals. Nalbandian beat Frenchman Tsonga 3-6  7-5  6-3. Tsonga had the match in his pocket, serving for it at 6-3  5-4, but the Argentine fought his way back in a great manner.
