PinExt Monaco eases past Fish into Miami semis

The 21th seed Argentine Juan Monaco cruised into the Miami Masters semifinals as he beat the 8th seed American Mardy Fish 6-1  6-3.

Monaco, who beat Roddick in the previous round, celebrated his 28th birthday with a perfect match that got him just one win away from a dream final.

Fish didn’t put up much of a fight in the first set. Monaco broke his serve twice before serving out the set.

The Argentine looked pumped up as he went up a break at the very beginning of the second set. Fish tried to stay in the match, getting a break back to level the set at 3-3, but that didn’t put off Monaco as he took his opponent’s serve once again and winning the next two games, he sailed to a comfortable victory.

Monaco will play world no.1 Djokovic in the semifinals, who defeated Spaniard Ferrer 6-1  7-6 (1).
