Monaco, who beat Roddick in the previous round, celebrated his 28th birthday with a perfect match that got him just one win away from a dream final.
Fish didn’t put up much of a fight in the first set. Monaco broke his serve twice before serving out the set.
The Argentine looked pumped up as he went up a break at the very beginning of the second set. Fish tried to stay in the match, getting a break back to level the set at 3-3, but that didn’t put off Monaco as he took his opponent’s serve once again and winning the next two games, he sailed to a comfortable victory.
