John Isner won his quarterfinal match in Indian Wells against the Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-3  1-6  7-5 and will play Djokovic in the semis.

The American hasn’t lost his serve a single time going into today’s match, but that changed quickly as Simon broke him in the very fist game. After taking a 3-1 lead, the Frenchman seemed to be on the run. But that’s when Isner got onto his feet and came storming back, winning five games in a row and taking a 1-0 set lead.

Isner played a very weak second set and struggled a lot with his serve. He got broken twice and Simon levelled the match with a comfortable 6-1 win.

The big point in the decider came when Simon saved a break point when serving at 2-3 down. Both players held their service games until the 12 game, when Isner seized his opportunity to take the Frenchman’s serve and seal the match.

The American will play Serbian Djokovic next, who defeated Nicolas Almagro of Spain 6-3  6-4.
