David Ferrer continued his winning streak as he defeated Santiago Giraldo in the Mexican Open semifinal, winning 7-5  6-4.

The last two weeks have been very successful for the Spaniard as he won the title in Buenos Aires and will be aiming to claim his third ever title in Acapulco.

Ferrer’s opponent in the final will be his countryman Fernando Verdasco, who overcame Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland, beating him 6-3  6-3.

Although Verdasco has a positive 7-6 head to head record against Ferrer, all eyes will be on Ferrer as he is regarded as a favourite of this match.
