Roger Federer reached the semifinals at the Indian Wells Tennis Masters as he defeated Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina in straight sets 6-3 6-2.
The first set started with a 11 minute long service game from Federer. The Swiss held the game and broke the Argentine in the very next game. This was enough for the 16 times Grand Slam champion to win the set in 37 minutes with a 6-3 end score.
In the second set, Federer played some stunning tennis and took Del Potro’s serve in the very first game. His forehand was working like a swiss watch and once he managed to break the Argentine for a second time, it was all over.
Federer, who won this tournament three times, will play either world no.2 Nadal or Argentine Nalbandian in the semifinals.
