Novak Djokovic is on the best way to defend his title at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. He defeated the Spaniard Nicolas Almagro in straight sets 6-3  6-4 and moved into the semifinals.

Djokovic started the first set with a lot of confidence, breaking Almagro in the 4th game. It was followed by another two breaks of serve and that played in Djokovic’s favour as he maintained his lead and took the first set.

The second set was a bit more tight, but it was the Serbian again who went up a break in the ninth game just before closing out the match with his own serve.

Djokovic will play either Gilles Simon or John Isner in the semifinals.
