Berdych, Wawrinka through to third round in Indian Wells

Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic battled past Sergiy Stakhovsky in the second round of the Indian Wells Masters. He needed three sets to beat the Ukrainian, winning 6-7 (2)  6-3  6-4.

He will now face a tought opponent in the next round, the former world no.1 Andy Roddick, who defeated Lukasz Kubot 4-6  7-6 (5)  6-3.

Also through to round three is the Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka, who dismissed the wild card holder Robby Ginepri of America 4-6  6-4  6-4.

Wawinka will play Simon in the next round, who ousted Dudi Sela of Israel 7-5  6-7 (6)  6-4.
