Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov upset the no.7 seed Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic, beating him 6-3  2-6  6-4 in the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.

Dimitrov has now got a 2-0 head to head record against the Czech. In their first encounter, he defeated Berdych in three sets too.

Berdych showed frustration in the third set as he couldn’t convert any of the break point chances he had when 3-2 and 4-3 up. Dimitrov punished him for this, breaking the Czech in the 9th game and holding his own serve to seal the match.

Dimitrov will play Janko Tipsarevic in the 4th round. The 9th seed Serbian won a tough encounter against the 18th seed Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, prevailing in three sets 6-4  5-7  6-2.

Andy Murray received a walkover into the 4th round as the Canadian Milos Raonic pulled out of the match with an ankle injury.

Also through to the next round is the Frenchman Gilles Simon, who eliminated Jurgen Melzer of Austria 7-6 (5)  6-4.
