The first match was quickly over as world no.6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga beat Vasek Pospisil 6-1 6-3 6-3.
Canadian Milos Raonic levelled the tie, winning 6-2 6-4 7-5 against Julien Benneteau.
The Canadian team had the advantaged of the home crowd on their side, but that didn´t seem to help them as they lost the doubles the following day. Julien Benneteau and Michael Llodra beat Milos Raonic and Daniel Nestor in straight sets 7-6 (1) 7-6 (2) 6-3.
On the last day, Tsonga took the match into his hands and with a 6-4 6-4 6-1 win over Fran Dancevic secured France the third and deciding point.
In the last match Gael Monfils dismissed Vasek Pospisil 6-4 6-4.
